COVID 19 – SOME GREAT NEWS!

We miss you!

No really, it’s been months on months without Wedding Photography & all we can think about is how we move forward from here. I know you’re probably wondering the same but we have some great news for you:

Saint Lucia hasn’t been immune from the covid-19 global pandemic. Between March 13th and today, we’ve recorded a total of 18 covid-19 cases. However, the good news is that all 18 of these cases have recovered, and no one has died from covid-19 in St Lucia.

Saint Lucia was able to manage the spread of covid-19 by implementing several measures including closing our international borders on March 23rd. That meant that no one could come to Saint Lucia, neither by plane nor cruise ship. It also meant that flights that may have been booked months in advance would have been cancelled, or hopefully postponed.

HERE’S THE GOOD NEWS

The government of Saint Lucia has introduced a 5 phased plan to reopen Saint Lucia. This includes allowing more businesses to reopen, making provisions for children to return to school, and of course, allowing visitors to our shores.

WHEN WILL TOURISM RECOMMENCE?

Regional and international tourism is expected to recommence on June 1st on a minimal scale with several restrictions. That’s when we are set to enter Phase 4 of the reopening plan and it’s also when airports will be allowed to open to commercial travel. Currently, our two airports have only been operating to facilitate cargo planes, and special flights to repatriate locals. You may want to check with your airline, booking agent or travel agency to find out when you can reschedule if you had a flight earlier in the year.

WILL THINGS BE THE SAME?

Unfortunately, as this virus is still seriously impacting several countries around the world including Saint Lucia’s main source markets like Canada, the USA and England, the country must take new precautions to keep both you and our citizens safe.  Let’s take a look at some of the key changes:

  • You must be tested for covid-19 between 24 and 48 hours of your flight to St Lucia
  • You must wear a mask on the plane and abide by social distancing rules
  • You can only be transported to your hotel by special tourism taxis
  • The hotel you choose to stay at must submit a covid-19 plan and follow protocol
  • Buffet services for food may cease to exist for some time; meals may be a la carte
  • Excursions outside of the hotel may be limited or unpermitted to promote your safety
  • Temperature checks may be administered
  • There will be limited interaction with staff

WHAT ARE WE DOING?

Things change for us as well as we follow a strict protocol put in place by the Government of St.Lucia and also following our own discretion:

  1. Masks & Gloves – these must be worn at all times at every wedding/elopement and couple shoot.

  2. No physical contact – there will be no physical contact made during wedding activities.

  3. Physical Distancing – Atleast 4ft of distance will be kept from clients & wedding guests at all times.

  4. Online ONLY transactions for the next 6 months.
